Cavalo Marinho Audiovisual is a production company specializing in digital cinema, based in the city of Diadema, in the ABC region of São Paulo. Founded in 2006 by directors Gilberto Caetano and Thais Scabio, both with over twenty years of experience in the audiovisual sector, the company stands out for creating content committed to innovation, diversity, and cultural representation.
Throughout its history, the production company has developed more than 50 audiovisual works, including short films, documentaries, series, and animations. Among its most recognized productions is the animated short film "Barco de Papel" (Paper Boat), which won Best Film at the IV Mostra de Cinema Negro de Mato Grosso (Brazil), the Audience Award at the VII FeCIC (Argentina, 2022), and Best Film – Audience Award at FITAN – Festival Internacional Terreiro das Artes Negras (Porto Seguro, Brazil).
Other notable projects include the documentary “Ipa/Ipá”, awarded at the IV Mostra Lugar de Mulher é no Cinema (4th Women's Place is in Cinema Showcase), the children's series “Estamos Aqui” (We Are Here), produced for SESC TV and TAL (Televisão América Latina) channels, the web series “Terror em 1 Minuto” (Terror in 1 Minute), and the animation “Graffiti Dança” (Graffiti Dance), recognized as Best Brazilian Animation at Anima Mundi 2013, a finalist for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro (Brazilian Cinema Grand Prize), and included in the book “Animação Brasileira: 100 filmes essenciais” (Brazilian Animation: 100 Essential Films) by ABCA (Brazilian Association of Animated Cinema).
With a sensitive and contemporary perspective, Cavalo Marinho Audiovisual also reaffirms its commitment to Audiovisual Training that reflects the plurality of Brazil, through projects such as MIIA - Mostra InfantoJuvenil Itinerante de Audiovisual (Itinerant Children's and Youth Audiovisual Exhibition) and the partnership with the JAMAC Cinema Digital project, strengthening the presence of independent audiovisual production on the national and international scene.
